Paris is the fashion capital so what better place than the Palais Galliera to make a fashion pilgrimage and delve into the luxurious world of fashion history?

Home to solo exhibitions of iconic designers such as Jeanne Lanvin and Azzedine Alaïa as well as themed shows such as 50s fashion, is perfect for those of us obsessed with fabric and elegance.

The palace was commissioned by the Duchess of Galliera, Marie Brignole-Sale to house her art collection and remains a glorious example of neo-renaissance architecture. The surrounding gardens are also rather exquisite.

Temporary exhibitions are the only shows on offer, perhaps fitting for a subject as fleeting as fashion, so make sure to check whether the gallery is open as they often close between exhibitions.
