Cartier may be known for their beautiful jewellery but this contemporary art centre shows that the luxury jewellers have interests that extend way beyond bejewelled panthers.

Big-name contemporary artists rule this relatively small space with immersive exhibitions that take advantage of the light-filled Jean Nouvel designed building and surrounding gardens.

The foundation is committed to raising awareness of contemporary art, as if it didn't have a big enough profile, by holding wonderful exhibitions, talks and other arty events.

Expect to see solo or themed exhibitions featuring artists such as Ron Mueck, Bruce Nauman or Yue Minjun. Sculpture and installation are often on the menu chez Cartier.
